
Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Rotary Club received a Community Assistance Project Grant for 2019. this CAP Grant is designed to be used to support small projects that address a specific community need.
"This year we chose to assist the Regional Healthcare Foundation’s Mother-to-Mother Program," stated Hank Trout, Dexter Rotary Club member. "Their mission is to create self-confident young parents with hope for the future through education, support and services in partnership with the community. This project will assist approximately 14 young women, under the age of 24, and their families, to help ensure that children and families are free to grow and reach their full potential in a nurturing, healthy and safe environment."
The Dexter Rotary Club received $1,000.00 through the CAP grant and matched the grant with $1,000.00 of their local club funds.
The Dexter Rotary Club purchased ten convertible cribs, five toddler cribs and toddler bed mattresses and five safety convertible car seats to donate.
Dexter Rotary Club is a service organization whose purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian service and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. The club meets weekly at Hickory Log Restaurant at noon each Tuesday.

Bloomfield, Missouri - In 2009, Julie Dodd, a kindergarten teacher at Bloomfield and a wonderfully skilled photographer was inspired along with her friend, Amy Ellinghouse, also a skilled photographer decided to give back during the holidays.
The Claus for a Cause is a one day annual event slated for Sunday, November 24, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield. Come get your photo made with Santa!
Picture packages range from $10 to $25 and no appointment is necessary.
Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 704 W. Missouri Street in Bloomfield. The public is encouraged to attend and everyone is welcome to stop in. There will also be lots of games and things to do along with meeting Santa!

Bloomfield, Missouri - Santa will be at the Stoddard County Extension office on Monday, December 2nd from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. The Extension office is located at 316 S. Prairie St. in Bloomfield.
Kids will enjoy a free gift from Santa, cookies, ornament making, and a photo with the big red fella!

Dexter, Missouri - Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Everyone should experience the tradition of a great meal, family and a fun afternoon of visiting.
The Student Council of Dexter High School (STUCCO) knows all too well how tradition is important; therefore they will again this year host the Senior Citizen's Turkey Dinner on Tuesday, November 26th.
Dinner will be served at the High School at 5:00 p.m.
All Senior Citizens are encouraged to attend and no pre-registration is required. There is no charge for this wonderful meal.
