Dexter Firemen Honored for Years of Service
Dexter, Missouri- Five Dexter firefighters were honored for their years of service at the annual awards banquet held on December 16, 2017 at Hickory Log.

Receiving commemorative star pins depicting their years on the department were, from left, Beau Bishop with 20 years, Jeff Riddle with 25 years, Landon Miller with five years, Gary Kinder with 30 years, and at far right, Dale Rowe. Rowe is the longest standing veteran on the local Fire Department, having served for 45 years.

Congratulations gentlemen.  The Dexter community is proud to have you serving as local firemen.

New to the Dexter Fire Department
Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Fire Department gained four new firefighters in the year 2017.

They were introduced during the December 16, 2017  awards banquet and include, from left, Wayne Jones, Troy Martinez, Bobby Billingsley and Andrew Edwards.

All men joined the department in 2017, although Edwards had served for a time previously.

Special Gift for Fire Chief Don Seymore
Dexter, MIssouri - Dexter firefighters presented a unique gift to Fire Chief Don Seymore at their annual awards banquet held at the Hickory Log on December 16, 2017.

Seymore, at right, is shown with Captain Jeremy Freeman who, on behalf of the department, presented the chief with a specially designed helmet from Taylor's Tins in Cape Girardeau.

The firm manufacturers limited edition helmet fronts. Seymore's one of a kind helmet is the first from the company to be completed with the gold leaf pattern.

Andrew Juden Named Dexter Firefighter of the Year
Dexter, Missouri - Dexter firefighters and their guests attended the annual awards banquet at Hickory Log on December 16, 2017, with the highlight of the evening being the presentation of the award for Firefighter of the Year.

Firefighters annually cast ballots to select the honoree. Named for the 2017 honor was Andrew Juden, pictured at left above with the 2016 recipient, Todd O’Dell.

Rotary Interact Donates to Children's Home
Dexter, Missouri - The Stoddard County Rotary Interact Club made the Children’s Home Christmas a little better this year.

The student club chose to purchase items needed for everyday use including personal items for the children and household items. 

They donated all items to the Children's Home in Stoddard County.
