Dexter, Missouri - First Midwest Bank in Dexter has teamed up with First Midwest Banks in Jackson, Cape Girardeau, and Sikeston to collect much-needed items to benefit each of their local charities. Dexter will be donating to the Stoddard County Gospel Mission.
Each bank will split their products and donate ¼ to each others respective bank location so that each charity receives all 4 categories of products.
Team Skincare from Dexter is seeking donations of Soap, Body Wash, and Lotion.
Team Haircare in Jackson is collecting hair products. Team Deodorant is out of Cape Girardeau and Team Toothpaste is out of Sikeston.
Which team are you on? Stop by any of the four locations and donate products that have not been used or opened to benefit the Stoddard County Gospel Mission located in Dexter.
Better yet stop in at the First Midwest Bank located at 819 Business Hwy 60 or at the downtown location at 20 West Stoddard St both in Dexter.
They will be collecting donations through Tuesday, May 31st until 4:15 p.m.

Advance, Missouri - The Stoddard County 4-H is starting a Hunting and Outdoor Skills Club in Advance, Missouri.
The goal of the project is to teach wildlife identification (hides, skulls, scat, tracks, and wings) firearm selection (matched to game hunted), map and compass skills, plaster cats of animal tracks, contest event information and tips, Dutch oven cooking, hunting skills state team insights, simulated hunting and shooting activities, Carmelita hunt and ballistics.
Each hunting and outdoors skills club is led by a certified 4-H instructor who strives to make each meeting fun for the members by incorporating games and competition. Each you must enroll in 4-HOnline.
The 4-H Hunting and Outdoors Skills Club will be held the 2ndWednesday each month at 7:00 p.m. beginning on June 8, 2016 at the Advance Eagles Arie 4154 in Advance.
4-H provides a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, promote family recreation and meet other youth from the county with similar interests. 4-H welcomes all youth ages 8 – 18. For more information please call the Stoddard County Extension Office at (573) 568-3344.

Dexter, Missouri - The Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland held its signature event, the Camporee, the weekend of April 15-17 at the Stoddard County Fairgrounds.
Over 200 Girl Scouts and their families camped under the stars and nearly 700 attendees enjoyed Saturday activities and exhibits.

Dexter, Missouri - A Community Prayer Vigil for Chase Morrison has been set for Wednesday, May 4th at 7:45 p.m. at West Park.
Greg McGhee,Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church will lead the prayer. Scott Kruse, T.S. Hill Middle School Principal, will also speak. Lauren Thrower will sing Amazing Grace.
His classmates have asked that everyone wear BLUE on Wednesday and to the Prayer Vigil.
Blue and white balloons will also be released in his memory. If anyone would like to donate for the expense of the balloons or speak at the Vigil, please contact Dee Loflin at (573) 380-3318. You may bring a candle or a flashlight as well.
