The 2023 Stoddard County Athletic Association (SCAA) Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament is set for January 23rd - 27th at the Bearcat Event Center in Dexter.  The bracket and seeds have been announced.

Puxico JV basketball team earned the #1 seed followed by #2 Woodland, #3 Dexter, #4 Bell City, #5 Advance, #6 Richland, #7 Bloomfield, and #8 Bernie.

Day 1 - Monday, January 23rd

Day 2 - Tuesday, January 24th

4:00 p.m. #2 Woodland vs #7 Bloomfield

Third place game will be at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27th and the Championship game will be at 7:00 p.m.

The 2022 Bloomfield Christmas got off to a rocky start due to weather this year.  Monday's games were postponed to Tuesday.  The first game of the day was the Dexter Bearcats vs the Gideon Bulldogs.  Dexter being the #1 seed demolished the #16 seeded Gideon 78-19.

Cole Nichols, a 6'2" senior from Dexter tallied a game-high 28 points for the Bearcats.  He scored on 7 baskets, 3 treys and was 5/8 at the line.

Truman Krapf finished with 17 points on five 3-pointers and one regular basket.

Brayden Pullum also finished in double digits scoring 6 buckets, 1 trey totaling 15 points.

Dexter will play the winner of the Puxico vs East Prairie game on , Wednesday December 28 at 4 p.m.

The Dexter High School Competitive Cheer Squad competed at regionals in St. Louis in October and won first place. They have qualified to compete in the Missouri Cheerleading Coaches Association Championship on Sunday, December 11th at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau.

The team was lead through the halls of Dexter High School by the Dexter Marching Bearcats as classmates and staff applauded.

The Dexter High School Competition Cheer squad consists of: Jayci Holcomb, Grace Sepulvado, Bella Cook, Callie Whitaker, Ellie Dowdy, Emma Sparkman, Lexi Holden, Lexi Bennett, Addie Medley, Gracen Hampton, Emma Dorton, Aubrey Seiter, Avery Riley, Cali White, Emma Pennington, Aundrea Hernandez, Averee Ackman, Nia Stromas, Lauren Sindle, and Meredith Nea. 

The Dexter High School wrestling team traveled to DeSoto High School and competed against DeSoto and Sikeston in a tri-ad.  Sikeston defeated Dexter 39-28.  Dexter defeated DeSoto 48-27.
