Puxico, MO - The Lady Indians came out and handled business against the Madlen Greenwaves on Friday evening.
The JV Indians played very well together and worked hard for the big win! They defeated Malden 28-26, 25-18.
The varsity Lady Indians were solid and won all three sets 25-16, 25-13, and 25-7.
"We went in to this season with the “whatever it takes to finish” mindset for the season. We’ve been working very hard together as a team for many years, and we set our goals higher for this season. We are in a very competitive conference and we’re putting in the work to compete," stated head volleyball coach Hannah Douglas.
"We were proud of the work we put into action on the floor together for our first set. We ran some great plays and were stronger offensively than we have been in a long time. We came with an attacking mindset and it worked for us in moments that our defense didn’t. With that said, we restructured what our defense and service receive would look like this season, and so far we are pleased."
We know there’s a lot of room for growth, but we are ready to do what it takes to reach our goals! It was a great start to an exciting season."
They will travel to Clarkton on Monday, August 29th and at home again on Tuesday, August 30th hosting Scott City.
The Junior Varsity will participate in the Bernie J.V. Tournament on September 1st and 2nd.
