In Memory of David William Shaw, Jr.

David William Shaw, Jr. son of the late David William, Sr and Patricia Ann Weldon Shaw was born in Parma, Missouri on December 28, 1924 and passed away February 27, 2021 at his home in Malden at the age of 96.

After graduating from high school in Parma, David served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After being Honorably discharged from the Army David moved to Flint, Michigan where he worked for General Motors as a machinist. David lived in Flint with his family until his retirement. David served for many years at the American Legion  Post #239 and the VFW of Lilbourn Post #7138. David served as the Bingo Chairman for 15 years at the American Legion. David was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. He was of the Methodist Faith.

David is survived by his son David Louis Shaw of Grandblank, Michigan: step-son Kirk Andrew Walker of Malden. One daughter Sue Ann Shaw-Rule of Flint, Michigan. Two brothers: Floyd Shaw of Parma, and Michael Shaw of Malden.  Ten Grandchildren, Twelve  Great-grandchildren. David was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first great-great-grandchild due in June of 2021.  A host of family and  friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son; Dale Richard Shaw, one step-son; Randall Earl Walker; one daughter; Rita Shaw, two brothers; Burl Shaw and Bob Shaw; one sister; Hazel Townsend.

David was very fortunate to have a very special Daughter-in-law and caregiver Penny Walker of Bernie.

David will be buried at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full Military Honors. Burial will be a private family service. Rev. Martin Goode and Rev. Aulden LeBlanc will officiate the service. 

A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Post 293 in the near future and will be announced. 

Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the American Legion Post #239 in Malden. These may be mailed to PO Box 203, Malden, Missouri 63863
