Maxine Jennings Obituary

Maxine Jennings, daughter of the late Frank Aaron Barker and Laura Ann Poole Barker, was born on September 19, 1928 in Brownwood, Missouri and departed this life on February 12, 2016 at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 87.

Mrs. Jennings graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1947.  She worked for International Shoe Company from 1947 to 1962, at Brown Shoe Company for six years and Purolator for twenty-three years.  She was an active volunteer for the Dexter Chamber of Commerce for many years and was a volunteer at the Heritage Museum for ten years.

She is survived by two sons, Jamie Jennings and Rodney Jennings, both of Dexter, Missouri; by two daughters, Janet Coleman of Dexter, Missouri and Dena Lutz of Baldwin, Missouri; by one sister, Norma Laura Sitz of Arkansas; by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Barker and Bill Barker; and by five sisters, Pearl Lawson, Edna Musgraves, Frankie Almond, Maude Skelton and Lizzie Mae Yount.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. 

A private funeral service will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, February 15, 2016. 

Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
