Dexter Bearcats Earn Season High 76 Points to Win!

Bell City, Missouri - “That was the most complete basketball game we have played this year,” stated Dexter head boys basketball coach Josh Dowdy in a press release to the ShowMe Times.  “I am so proud of our guys!  That was a total-team effort.  Every player on our roster got in the book tonight!”

The Dexter varsity boys basketball team traveled to Bell City recording a season high 76 points on their way to victory!  Final score 76-44!

The Bearcats led 23-15 at the end of the first quarter and jumped to an even larger lead at the half 47-28.

Ethan Flowers recorded a game-high 22 points for the ‘Cats.  He had six 3-pointers.

Jacob Pedigo tallied 17 points including one trey.

Jason Jarrell finished with 10 points.  Austin Chesser had two treys finishing the night with a total of 8 points.  Peyton Pollock hit one 3-pointer and had a total of 6 points.

All Bearcats listed on the roster recorded at least one bucket!  Adam Webb, Matt Sims, Tyler Heil and Addison Moore each recorded two points in the second half.

“Adam Webb came off the bench and had a nice bucket late in the game,” Dowdy said.  “I am happy for him because he always maintains a positive attitude in practice and tonight he came in and capitalized on his opportunity.”

Peyton Maddox tallied a team-high 19 points for the Cubs.

“We knew they could shoot the ball from the perimeter and I thought we had a hand up on most of their shots,” continued Dowdy.  “We did an even better job securing some long rebounds, which led to some transition buckets.  Unlike Friday night, we finished around the basket tonight!”

Dexter (8-12) will be at the Bearcat Event Center on Friday evening against Kennett.  Game time is 6:00 p.m. and it is SENIOR night!

“We have to get back to work tomorrow because we know we have a good Kennett squad coming to town on Friday,” Dowdy stated.  “That will be Senior Nigh and we will get a chance to honor three fine young men, Peyton Pollock, Noah Kronk, and Matt Sims.”
