Mabel Walker Snider

Mabel Walker Snider, daughter of the late Alva “Stubby” Walker and Lacy Hill Walker, was born on October 19, 1937 in Bernie and departed this life on June 9, 2014 at Wilshire at Lakewood in Lee’s Summit, Missouri at the age of 76.

Mrs. Snider was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter.  She was a resident of Dexter and had taught school at T. S. Middle School in Dexter.  She was active in Girl Scouts for 12 years and had held various church offices.

On February 6, 1982, she was united in marriage to Harold “Pete” Snider in Bernie, Missouri.  Mr. Snider preceded her in death on January 9, 2014.

She is survived by one daughter, LeAnn Claudia Fryer of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; by two sons, Todd Walker Bowles of Conway, Arkansas, Dean Steven Bowles of Portland, Tennessee; by three step-children, Sandy Hill of Cape Girardeau, Cheryl Ponder of Benton and Terry Jo Acre of Portland, Oregon; by one brother, David Walker of Dexter; by three sisters, June Hester of Dexter, Joyce Mills of McKinney, Texas and Judy Crump of Dexter; by eight grandchildren, NaDean, Meleah, Walker, Luke, Graham, Lydia, Gabrielle and Olivia and by three step-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Clara Pullum. 

Friends may call at the First Baptist Church in Dexter on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Greg McGhee officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
