Charlie James Rimel, 75, of Dexter, Mo. died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Rimel, the son of the late Jacob L. and Lucille (McDowell) Rimel was born March 6, 1939, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mr. Rimel was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dexter, and a retired lineman for Ameren. A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Rimel was active in the United Methodist Men, past president of the Dexter Lions Club and University of Missouri Agricultural Extension Council.
On Dec. 19, 1965, he married Judith Kay Evans, in Dexter. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Chris Rimel and his wife, Anna Jane, of Acworth, Ga.; and Kevin Rimel of Anna, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Mae Esther Rimel and Gabriel William Rimel.
Other survivors include sisters, Minnie Rimel Davis of Poplar Bluff, Betty Rimel Harris and husband Ed, of Ruston, La.; and two brothers, Bob Rimel and wife Linda, of Poplar Bluff and John Rimel, of Wilmer, Ala.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 4, at the First United Methodist Church in Dexter with funeral services at the church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 5. Interment will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 7, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
