Katherine Irene Tucker Boone, daughter of the late Elmer Tucker and Birdie Mable Lightell Tucker was born on January 8, 1914 in Diehlstadt, Missouri and died on January 18, 2012 at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter at the age of 98.
Katherine was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Dexter, a retired seamstress at Elder Manufacturing and a resident of Dexter.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and husband Bob Burns of Dexter and Phyllis and husband John Southern of Sikeston, Missouri; by eleven grandchildren, Micheal Cox of Westland, Michigan, James and wife Wendy Boone of Ohio, Robin and husband David Mitchell of Dexter, Cheryl and husband Jerry of Kratochvil of Cape Girardeau, Mike and wife Sharon Burns of Dexter, Debi and husband Scott McFarland of Fowlerville, Michigan, Benny E. Boone, Jr. of Clayton, Michigan, Laura and husband Steve Green of Cape Girardeau, Terry and wife Lisa Burns of Dexter, Jana and husband Jeff Limbaugh of Sikeston and Kristy and husband Brent Taylor of Sikeston and by seventeen grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Benny Boone and James F. Boone; by one brother, Charles Tucker; by one sister, Alma Tucker Lewis; by one sister-in-law and dearest friend, Myrtle Tucker and by one grandson Dennis Cox.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Wooten officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
