Stoddard County, Missouri - The National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky has issued a Significant Weather Advisory until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday for Stoddard County.

...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR BOLLINGER...SCOTT...NEW MADRID... WAYNE...BUTLER...CAPE GIRARDEAU AND STODDARD COUNTIES UNTIL 430 PM CDT

... AT 332 PM CDT, DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR WAPPAPELLO TO NEAR MCDOUGAL. MOVEMENT WAS NORTHEAST AT 50 MPH. NICKEL SIZE HAIL AND WIND GUSTS OF 50 TO 55 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... CAPE GIRARDEAU, POPLAR BLUFF, SIKESTON, JACKSON, DEXTER, SCOTT CITY, PORTAGEVILLE, NEW MADRID, CHAFFEE, PIEDMONT, BERNIE, BLOOMFIELD, MARBLE HILL, ADVANCE, ORAN, LILBOURN, MINER, BENTON, GREENVILLE AND WAPPAPELLO LAKE AREA. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS, AND MAY LEAD TO LOCALIZED FLOODING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS.

FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS.

LIGHTNING CAN STRIKE 10 MILES AWAY FROM A THUNDERSTORM.

SEEK A SAFE SHELTER INSIDE A BUILDING OR VEHICLE.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM CDT FOR SOUTHERN ILLINOIS...AND SOUTHEASTERN MISSOURI.
