90th Annual Mid South Gospel Convention Set for This Weekend

Dexter, MO - More than 35 gospel music singers and artists will participate in the 90th Annual Mid South Gospel Convention to be held on Friday, September 10th and Saturday, September 11th at the Lair Event Center located on Highway 25 North in Dexter.

Friday, Sept. 10th, the concert will begin at 5 p.m., while Saturday, Sept. 11th, the concert starts at 4 p.m.

The convention is free to attend. A love offering will be taken up during each night to help with expenses.

The tradition of the annual singing goes back many years in Malden, where it was known as the Missouri State Singing Convention.

Through the years, many communities have hosted the convention, but the event has found a new home in Dexter, according to local organizers.

There is no admission fee for the event.

Concessions, door prizes, raffles and a silent auction will also take place along with the fifth annual Tina Sadler Stark Memorial Songwriting Contest.
