In Loving Memory of Betty Jean Carlton

Betty Jean Carlton, daughter of the late David Estele Wood and Miama Belle Lusk Wood was born September 15, 1930 in Bagnal Dam, Missouri and departed this life on October 22, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 86.

She was united in marriage to Eugene F. Carlton in 1948 at Piggott, Arkansas.  He preceded her in death on July 22, 1986.    

She is survived by two sons; Michael Carlton and wife Carol of Ocala, Florida and Kevin Carlton and wife Barbara of Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter, LaDona Herczeg of Apple Valley, California; by two step-sisters, Becky Nichols of Morehouse, Missouri and Judy Billings; by ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband; she is preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Bledsoe and one step-sister, Betty Jo Williamson by four brothers, Max Wood, Billy Wood, Jackie Wood, and Bobby Wood;

Friends may call at the Rainey Mathis Funeral Home on Friday November 4, 2016 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 5, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mike Kohlbaker officiating. 

Interment will follow at the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery.

In Loving Memory of Marna Davis

Marna Davis, daughter of the late John Benjamin Gillespie and Lila Mae Dover Gillespie was born on June 16, 1932 at Poplar, Missouri and departed this life on November 1, 2016 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 84.

She was united in marriage to Bob Davis on December 25, 1951 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  Mr. Davis survives of the home in Dexter, Missouri.

Mrs. Davis was a retired bookkeeper which included working for Monarch Feed Mills, Medler-Davis Chevrolet and Dexter Inn Inc.  Her favorite past times were being with family, traveling, playing machines at Robbie D’s and shopping trips with her girls.  

Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Rob Davis of Dexter, Mo; two daughters, Vicki Taylor and husband Bayless of Dexter, Mo and Donna Backfisch and husband Michael of Dexter, Mo; by one brother Donald Gillespie of Englewood, Fl; five grandchildren, John and Lisa Taylor of Dexter, Mo, Shannon and Jim Cochran of Milan, NH, Michael and Rachel Backfisch of Lewisville, NC, Devonne Davis of St. Louis, Mo, and Robbie Davis of Dexter, Mo; five great-grandchildren, Baylee and Austin Decker of Essex, Mo, Rylee Taylor, Dexter, Mo, Davis Backfisch and Dalton Backfisch of Lewisville, NC, and Calvi Cochran of Milan NH; one great-great-grandchild, Taylor Decker of Essex, Mo.

In Lieu of flowers, they family would like donations to be made to 18 Fore Life, C/O Scott Kruse, 705 Laurie Circle, Dexter, Mo 63841; First Christian Church (DOC), Memorial Fund, PO Box 295, Dexter, Mo 63841.

Graveside services will be Friday, November 4, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Rev. Mike Williams officiating.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM at the Hidden Trails County Club, 11601 Hidden Trails Drive, Dexter, Missouri.

In Loving Memory of Rickey J. Lane

Rickey J. Lane, son of the late J B Lane and Ruble Snider Lane was born on November 26, 1953 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on October 27, 2016 at Southeast Health of Cape Girardeau at the age of 62.

Mr. Lane graduated from Richland High School in 1971.  He was the owner of RL’s Package Plus in Essex, Missouri.  He was of Baptist Faith and a member of the Dexter Elks.

Mr. Lane is survived by three daughters; Marianna Lane of Matthews, Missouri, Michelle Lane of Essex, Missouri, and Madison Lane of New Madrid, Missouri; by two sisters, LaNeal Weidenbenner of Belleville, Illinois and Shelba Mofield of Dexter, Missouri; by one brother-in-law, Ralph Mouser of Dexter, Missouri; by nieces and nephews, Jeff Weidenbenner (Kim), John Weidenbenner (Mary), Amy Delay (Rick), Donna Mofield, Lezlie Taylor (Galen), Eric Mouser (Pam), Tracey Helms (Matt), Corey Mouser (Tara) and Kendal Mouser (Brandy).  Many great nieces and nephews, along with numerous other relatives and many friends.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by one brother Jerry Lane; one sister Hazel Mouser; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Mofield and Joe Weidenbenner; one nephew, Chris “MO” Mofield.

In Loving Memory of Joyce Lee Bridges

Our beloved mother, Joyce Lee Bridges, went home to be with her heavenly father on October 30, 2016 at her residence in Puxico.  She was the daughter of the late, Luther and Rilta May Kindred and was born on September 25, 1944 and was 72 years of age.

She was united in marriage to William Frank “Dub” Bridges on September 23, 1960 at Bernie, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on July 12, 1998. She then was united in marriage to Elmer Riney on May 5, 2001. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2007.

Mrs. Bridges was a member of the Life Chapel Assembly of God Church in Puxico and had worked as a nurse aide for the healthcare industry.  She was a resident of Puxico.

She is survived by one son, David R. Bridges of Puxico; by two daughters, Pamela and husband Mike Dalton of Owosso, Michigan, Patricia and husband Mark Taylor of Morrice, Michigan; by two brothers, David and wife JoAnne Kindred of Fenton, Michigan and Rob and wife Loraine Bridges of Oak Grove, Missouri; by eleven grandchildren, Tiffany and husband Steve Raysin, Michael Dalton, Matthew Dalton, Clerie Zimmer, Jordan Wagner, Sean Taylor, Tony Taylor, Angel Bryan, Raymond Taylor, Jacob Taylor and Josh Taylor and by many great-grandchildren and special nieces and nephews.

Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, baby William Bridges; by one daughter, Deborah Conrad; by one brother, James Kindred and by one sister, Shirley Riney.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will then be conducted on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Glen Epps III officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

In Loving Memory of Jane Jackson

N. Jane Jackson 84, formerly of Dexter, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday October 25, 2016 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL. 

She was born on February 7, 1932 in Hornersville, Missouri, the daughter of Jess and Mary (Masterson) Rhew. 

She married her one and only, Bill Jackson on October 16, 1949 in Kennett, Missouri.  Jane was a very active member of the Southwest Church of the Nazarene in Dexter and a member of the Dexter Senior Choir.  Jane had a great work ethic while working various jobs throughout the years, including retiring from Western Electric.  She also enjoyed and excelled at cooking, baking, sewing and making crafts.  She dearly loved her Lord, her family, her church family and her many friends.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Terry (Ashley) Jackson II of Yorkville, IL; Jody (John) Stagl of Oswego, IL; her daughter-in-law, Lorrie Jackson of Leland, IL and her precious great-grandchildren, Andrew Stonecipher, Haylee Jackson, Tyler Stagl, Addison Jackson, Caden Stagl, and Jack Jackson; one brother, Jerry Rhew of Bridgman, MI; one sister, Evelyn Dearing of St. Charles, MO, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Jackson; one son, Terry Jackson and eight brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Rainey Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with Pastor Ed Stoner officiating. 

Burial will be private. 

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Rainey Mathis Funeral Home. 

Memorials may be directed to Southwest Church of the Nazarene.
