In Loving Memory of Michelle Johnson

Michelle Johnson, daughter of the late Odus Ray Johnson and Marion Rusty Black Johnson was born May 20, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee and departed this life on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff at the age of 64.

Ms. Johnson was a C.P.A. and Lawyer and graduated from the University of Houston Law Center.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother; Douglas Ray Johnson.

Friends may call at the Rainey Mathis Funeral Home on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Greg McGhee officiating. 

Interment will follow on a later date.

In Loving Memory of Doris Niederstadt

Doris Niederstadt of Tuscaloosa, Alabama formerly of Dexter, daughter of the late Robert and Oma Jane Southard Ham, was born in Fifty Six, Arkansas on August 7, 1933, and passed away at the Hunter Creek Health & Rehab Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on October 4, 2016, at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 27 days.

Doris had lived in Dexter most of her life and moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama fourteen years ago.

She was married to Holland A. Niederstadt on May 28, 1964 in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2002.

Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Randall of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Laura Jones of Baltimore, Maryland; two sons, Bruce Dodd of Lakeland, Florida, Brad Dodd of Dexter, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Shell of Houston, Texas. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Cullum,  two sisters, Joyce Estes and Royce Dyess; two brothers, W. A. "Bill" Ham and Robert Ham.

Visitation was held on Saturday, October 8, 2016, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Pastor Keith Hathcock of Burleson, Texas officiating.

Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

In Loving Memory of Louis Joseph Puricelli, Jr.

Louis Joseph (Joe) Puricelli, Jr., son of the late Louis Joseph Puricelli , Sr. and Billie Jo (Ray) Puricelli Wilcox, born in St. Louis, Mo., December 18, 1943 and departed this life on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Denton Regional Medical Center, Denton, Texas, at the age of 72.

Upon graduation from Dexter High School in Dexter, Mo, Mr. Puricelli joined the U. S. Navy and served 3 ½ years at the Naval base in Pensacola, Florida. He was very much a people person and never met a stranger. He enjoyed his many years in the auto sales industry, working with and helping others, starting at Bud Shell Ford in Dexter, Mo.  He later owned and operated Joe Puricelli Ford, Lincoln, Mercury  in Kennett, Mo. Before moving to Denton , Texas in 1983 where he finished out his career.

He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, who loved his family, friends and watching football.  On June 4, 1971, he married Brenda Lacey in Dexter, Mo. She survives in the home.  Other survivors include two sons, Joey Puricelli (Heather) of Fishers, Indiana, Tony Puricelli (Tonya) of Flower Mound, Texas, and one daughter Debbie Grubbs (Michael) of St. Louis, Mo. 

Two brothers and one sister also survive Tom Wilcox and Eddie Wilcox of Qulin, Mo and Betty Sue Vails of Dexter, Mo.  seven grandchildren, Josh Worley and Madison Grubbs of St. Louis, Mo., Brandon Puricelli of Fisher, Indiana, Ashley Kinlaw of  St Paul, North Carolina and Erin Puricelli, Noah and Sophia Ortiz of Flower Mound, Texas. Besides his parents, his stepfather, Warren Wilcox, preceded him in death.

Visitation was at the Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, Denton, Texas, Wednesday evening October 5, 2016. A celebration of life was held at 2:00 pm on Thursday October 6, 2016 in the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home Chapel.

The Family suggests in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Linda McNatt Animal Care and Adoption Center, P O Box 486, Denton, TX.  76202.  On line condolences may be made at www.mulkeymasondenton.com

In Loving Memory of Dennis Herman

Dennis Herman, son of the late Maurice V. Herman and Cloma Helen Way Herman was born February 2, 1944 in Omaha, Nebraska and departed this life on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 72.

Mr. Herman served in the Marine Corp.  He worked for the railroad and was a fireman for 5 years.  He always dreamed of going to flight school to become a crop duster. He was a member of VFW and he retired as over road truck driver.

He was united in marriage to Paula Jean James on July 10, 1976 in Keokuk, Iowa.  Mrs. Herman survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons; Dennis Maurice Herman of Macomb, Illinois; Shane Beach of Canton, Georgia; and Justin Herman and wife Charlene of Rolla, Missouri; one daughter; Gina Watson and husband Tim of Dexter, Missouri; one brother; Gary M. Herman; nine grandchildren; Christopher Wyatt, Cody Beach, Taylor Watson, Dennis Gene Herman III, Porter Beach, Ashton Herman, Nathan Herman, Tyler Herman and Kali Wright. Two great-grandchildren; Cole Wyatt and Caden Wyatt.   

In lieu of flowers, family would like donations be made to Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri or Southwest Church of Nazarene in Dexter, Missouri.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. 

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

In Loving Memory of Celia Elisabeth Harris

Celia Elisabeth Harris, daughter of the late J D Hooks and Clara Trotter Hooks was born March 11, 1920 in rural Essex and departed this life on September 21, 2016 at Cypress Point Nursing Center in Dexter at the age of 96.

Mrs. Harris was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, former member of the Dexter Hospital Auxiliary and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Don Harris on March 28, 1937 at Bloomfield and Mr. Harris preceded her in death on June 25, 1975.  She then married Ralph Temples on September 5, 1980 and he preceded her in death on September 4, 1988. 

She is survived by one son; Douglas Allen Harris of Arizona; two step-sons, Douglas Temples of Dexter and Mike Beard of Mt. Vernon Illinois; two grandchildren, Craig Tharp and Cammy Benedict; two great grandchildren, Jessica and Amanda.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by two daughters, Pat Tharp and Sandra Kay Harris; one step-son, Byron Butch Beard; three brothers, Loran Hooks, Carrol Hooks, Cecil Hooks and half-brother Joe Hooks; one sister, Lanora Blankenship.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Greg McGhee officiating. 

Interment will follow at the Dexter Cemetery.
