In Loving Memory of David Jason Chester Rose

David Jason Chester Rose, age 39, of Poplar Bluff, MO, died Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his residence, in Poplar Bluff, MO. Mr. Rose was born, July 24, 1977 in Poplar Bluff, MO.

He was Associate Pastor of New Covenant Fellowship Church at Poplar Bluff, MO.

Mr. Rose was principal at Naylor Elementary School. He played baseball in high school and college and enjoyed coaching youth athletics. He also loved gardening, hunting, watching Cardinal baseball, and spending time with his family and friends.

On August 2, 2003, he married Sarah Moore Rose at New Covenant Fellowship Church. She survives. Also surviving are: three sons: Luke, Samuel, and Seth Rose all of the home; one sister: Kimberly Hawks and husband Rodney of Doniphan, MO: His father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jerry and Linda Moore of Poplar Bluff; his grandmother-in-law: Barbara Rhymer and several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents: David Rose and JoAnn Rose.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at New Covenant Fellowship Church in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the church with Rev. Jerry Moore officiating.

Burial will be in Qulin Cemetery at Qulin, Missouri.

In Loving Memory of Cynthia Renay Johnson

Cynthia Renay Johnson of Bloomfield, daughter of Mike L. Johnson and Glenda Fay Metcalf Johnson, was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on July 31st, 1977 and passed away at Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County in Dexter on September 17th, 2016 at the age of 39 years, 1 month and 17 days.

Ms. Johnson had lived all of her life in the Bloomfield area. She had been an L.P.N. Surviving are one daughter, Courtney Fay Johnson of Bloomfield; her mother Glenda Fay Johnson of Bloomfield; her father and step-mother Mike and Terre Johnson of Poplar Bluff; her brother Alex Johnson of Poplar Bluff; her sister and husband Katy and Jamie Arnold of Guthrie, Oklahoma; her sister Becky Johnson of Poplar Bluff; her brother and wife Aaron and Katherine Johnson of Fort Collins, Colorado. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Friends may visit on Tuesday September 20, 2016 from 5-8pm at the Chiles- Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, MO.

Services will be conducted at 1pm on Wednesday September 21, 2016 at the Chiles- Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, MO with the Rev. Bill Vail of Poplar Bluff officiating.

Interment will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield, MO.

Memorials may be made in Cindy’s honor to the John 3:16 Graduate Program 2908 Oak Grove Road Poplar Bluff, MO 63901.

Martha May Guethle, age 97, died on September 17, 2016, at 12:58AM in Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center, Dexter, MO.

Martha is survived by her sons, Thomas Guethle, of Cedar Hill, MO, David Guethle, Harlan Guethle, Francis Guethle, and Carl Guethle of Dexter, MO; her daughter-in-laws Trish Guethle, of Cedar Hill, MO, Brenda Guethle, and Janet Guethle of Dexter, MO; her sister, Benetta Svoboda of Avenel, NJ; her grandchildren Matt Guethle, Andy Guethle, Devon Guethle, Michael Guethle, Aaron “Vern” Guethle, and Sara Guethle Crocker; her great-grandchildren Grant, Trent and Harry Guethle, Henry, Sam, and Spencer Guethle, Lorelei, Greta, and Jack Guethle, Noah, Jacob, and Sophia Crocker, and Lennon Guethle.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Charles Guethle; her brothers, Albert “Bud” Sauer, Joseph Sauer, and George Sauer, and her sisters Leila Backfisch, Theresia Riechert, Margaret Olliges, Helen Wickham, Anna May Guethle, and Cecilia “Peggy” Bower.

Martha was born on May 2, 1919 in Dexter, Missouri, to parents Fred Sauer and Philomenia Dietsch Sauer.

Martha was greatly loved by her family and church family. She married Raymond Guethle in 1946, and the couple had five sons. Martha and Raymond became Raymond Guethle Farms, which grew row crops and had a dairy.

Martha was a social, active woman who was deeply involved in the family farm and church activities for the majority of her life. She belonged to the Women’s Sodality group. She enjoyed working in her garden, cooking huge meals, and farming with her husband and sons. Her family and friends will always remember her as a hard working gardener, fabulous cook, and a caregiver.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday on September 19, from 8AM to 10AM at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home. A funeral is scheduled for 11AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father David Dohogne will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Martha's life.

The family would like to thank Southeast Hospital and Cypress Point Skilled Nursing center for the care and compassion they extended to Martha and her family.

They prefer in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter, Missouri, Stoddard County Children’s Home in Bloomfield, Missouri (Stoddardcountychildrenshome.com), and 18ForeLife (www.18forelife.com).

In Loving Memory of Willard Dean Kelley

Willard Dean Kelley, son of the late Charles Kelley and Ethel Young Kelley was born on October 24, 1935 in Bloomfield, Missouri and departed this life on September 16, 2016 at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter at the age of 80 years.

Mr. Kelley was a member of the Liberty Hill General Baptist Church in Aid, Missouri and served in the United States Army National Guard. Willard was a former employee of Purolator, Rick Shipman Construction, and a Farmer. He also had a passion for Circle Track Racing and  was an avid hunter.

On May 30, 1954 he was united in marriage to Janice Wilkison in Acorn Ridge, Missouri. Mrs. Kelley survives of the home in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Besides his wife, survivors include four daughters, Peggy Jones of Bloomfield, Missouri; Donna Cookson and husband Tony of Advance, Missouri, Barbara Shipman and husband Rick of Dexter, Missouri, Stacy Tucker and husband Corey of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by six grandchildren, Michael McCollum, James McCollum, Travis Jones, Bud Shipman, Grace Shipman, and Tyler Tucker; by six great-grandchildren, Cheyene McCollum, Dylan Boyer, Colton McCollum, Jager McCollum, Raegan Shipman, and Anslee Shipman; three sisters, Betty Stevens and Ellen LaMar both of Imperial, Missouri, and Pat Phillips of Dexter; also by other relatives and many close friends.  

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Gene Kelley and Eddie Wayne Kelley.

Visitiation will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 10:00 until 12:00 Noon at the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Tuesday at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Tim Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military rites.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Glenda Haney of Bloomfield, daughter of the late Connie Lawrence Lafayette and Ethel Tempe Burkett Moore, was born in Charleston, Missouri on January 1,1935, and passed away at Cypress Point Nursing Home in Dexter on September 17, 2016, at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 16 day.

Mrs. Haney has lived most of her life in the Dexter and Bloomfield areas.

On February 9, 1952, she was married to Alfred Haney in Corinth, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2004.

Surviving are  three sons, Scott Haney of Bloomfield, Mike and Sheila Haney of Dexter, Jim and Carolyn Haney of  Puxico; one daughter, Debbie and Johnny Christian of Bloomfield; five grandchildren, Dundee Dougherty of Jacksonville, Florida, Heather Hagene of Belleville, Illinois, Jessica Haney of Bloomfield; Ben Haney of Dexter, Sarah Haney of Bloomfield; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Moore of Benton and Jewel Moore of New Hamburg.Other relatives and friends also survive.

Friends may visit on Sunday September 18, 2016, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. At the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Graveside  services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday September 18 ,2016 at the Zion Cemetery near Puxico with Rev. Steve Tippen of Bloomfield officating, Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
