Kathleen Davis

Kathleen Davis daughter of the late Everett Good and Dorothy Colbert Good was born on March 27, 1940 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and died on April 29, 2011 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff at the age of 71.

Mrs. Davis was a resident of Wappapello, Missouri, a home maker, a member of the First Christian Church formerly of Bloomfield. She loved her grandchildren, loved to read, working in her flowers, hummingbirds and her dog.

On June 17, 1959 she was united in marriage to John S. Davis in Kennett, Missouri. Mr. Davis survives of their home in Wappapello.

Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Mindy and Tim Robey of Dexter and Lynn and Steve Pullum of Dexter; by four grandchildren, T.J. Robey, Drew Robey, Logan Robey and Taylor Robey all of Dexter and by two step grandchildren, Tyler Pullum and Travis Pullum.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 5 - 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 10 a.m., in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Wayne Dismuke and Dr. Steve Easterwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

The family requests that all memorials be made to the St. Jude Tribute Program %P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142, and In Touch Ministries. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.

Billie Sue Davis Mulcahy met the glory of her Lord on April 29, 2011. She was born on September 29, 1951 to the late Edward Livingston Davis IV and Blanch Grace Phillips Davis in Caruthersville, Missouri. Billie departed this life at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on April 29, 2011 at the age of 59 years.

She married David Owen Mulcahy of Sikeston Mo. On January 5 1979, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to this union three children were born, Kevin Owen Mulcahy and daughter- in- law Carissa Anne Mulcahy of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by two daughters, Kimbely Dyan Mulcahy of Dexter and Ashley Michelle Mulcahy of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has three grandchildren Jack Mulcahy, Eleanor Rose Mulcahy and Jonathan William Mulcahy.

She is survived by one sister Cheryl L. Peters, one niece, Elizabeth Dyan Stites and one brother, Edward Livingston Davis V (Butch) and nephew Edward Livingston Davis VI.

Billie Sue was a social worker with the Missouri Division of Family Services in both Cape Girardeau County and Stoddard County. She was also a social worker in Monroe, Louisiana for the State of Louisiana. Billie Sue Mulcahy is a member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter, Mo., serving as Treasurer of her Sunday School Class.

She was an officer in the David’s Pharmacy Inc. of Dexter, Mo for the past 25 years and an active member of the community. She and her family were members of the First Baptist Church of Dexter, Missouri.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home from 4 - 7 p.m., Sunday May 1, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday May 2, 2011 at 2 p.m., in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Allen Reeves and Dr. Steve Easterwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Johnny Lee Johnson, 57, of Lilbourn died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Mr. Johnson was born August 11, 1953 in Jaywee, Missouri, the son of the late Tom Johnson Sr., and the late Mattie Lee Alcorn Johnson. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by one daughter, Sabrina Anderson of Kalamazoo, Mich., by one step-son, Demarco Partee of Poplar Bluff; by two step-daughters, Stacy Williams of Portageville and Deidra Davis of Kansas City; by three brothers, Terry Johnson of Malden, Perry Johnson of Lilbourn, and Victor Johnson of Sikeston; four sisters, Margaret March of Lilbourn, Joyce Robinson and husband Claude of Malden, Minerva Grissom and husband Ledale of Lilbourn, and Jeanette Johnson and husband Roosevelt of Lilbourn; by 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by one sister, Gloria Tilman Pratcher; and three brothers, Tom Johnson , Jr, III, All Johnson, and Mike Johnson.

Friends may call beginning at 12 p.m., Saturday, April 30 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the Bradshaw Chapel in Malden with Pastor Earl Grissom officiating. Interment will follow at the Simmons Cemetery in Catron.

Raymond Cate, son of the late Robert Cate and Elsie Johnson Cate, was born on February 20, 1923 in Nettleton, Arkansas and departed this life at his residence in Aquilla on April 23, 2011 at the age of 88.

Mr. Cate had worked as a production planner for McDonald Douglas in St. Louis and was a resident of Aquilla.

Survivors include one son, Larry Cate of Foristell, Missouri; by one daughter, Velma Hale of Collinsville, Illinois and by one brother, Norman Cate of West Virginia.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Micheal Robert Cate.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Rose of Sharon Chapel in Aquilla, Missouri.

Bulah Francoy Fortner
Bulah Francoy Fortner of Risco died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at her home at the age of 95.

Mrs. Fortner was born September 19, 1915 in Springhill, Arkansas, the daughter of John Irvin Robinson and Adah Florence Benton Robinson. She was a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas. She was a member of the Risco Rural Independent Club and taught school at Clarkton and Gideon and for 22 years at Risco. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Risco.

Mrs. Fortner was married to Willie Fortner on June 7, 1941 at Morrilton, Arkansas. Mr. Fortner preceded her in death on July 27, 1994.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Joyce Fortner of Risco; by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Brent Shinal of Rogers, Arkansas; by seven grandchildren - Angie Miller of Parma, Cheri Harris of Jackson, Billy Fortner of Tallapoosa, Mark Fortner of Tallapoosa, Betsy Mays of Poplar Bluff, Matthew Smith of Springdale, Arkansas, and Jared Smith of Ava; by one daughter-in-law, Alice Fortner of Parma; and by 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in by one son, Royce Fortner; by four sisters, Jonnie Tyler, Doris Sims, Daphne Mills and Mary Robinson; by two brothers, Sid Robinson and Newt Robinson.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Risco with the Rev. Lewis Scott officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
