Nancy Carol Wade, daughter of the late Roy Gardner and Madeline Meyers Smith was born on November 24, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on February 17, 2017 at her residence in Dexter at the age of 66.

Mrs. Wade was a Department Manager for Wal-Mart. She was a resident of Dexter.

On July 17, 1989 she was united in marriage to John T. Wade in Dexter.  Mr. Wade survives of their residence in Dexter.

Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Brian Barnes of Jackson, Missouri; by two daughters, Melanie Geiger of Bell City and Carmen Maddox of Hawaii; by two step-sons, John M. Wade of Galesburg, Illinois and Jason T. Wade of Mount Vernon, Illinois; by one sister, Violet Higgs of Dexter; by eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, whom she was raised by, Steve Smith.

A grave-side service will be conducted immediately following visitation at the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery with Herman Morse officiating. 

Bryan Lee Gentry, son of Bob and Patricia Haney Gentry of Houston, Missouri was born on March 26, 1964 in Houston, Missouri and departed this life on February 17, 2017 at the Barnes-Jewish Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 52 years.

Mr. Gentry was the owner and operator of Dr. Vinyl, an Eagle Scout for many years, member of the Living Water Worship Center in Bloomfield, Missouri, and a resident of Dexter.

On February 18, 1984, he was united in marriage to Letitia (Tish) Hazelton in Sikeston, Missouri.  Tish survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife and parents, survivors include four sons, Clifton Gentry (Laura) of Jackson, Missouri, Caleb Gentry of Dexter, Ethan Gentry (Allie) of Hollister, Missouri and Darrin Pullum of  the home in Dexter; by two daughters, Amelia Banken (Matt) of Dexter and Bailey Pullum of Bloomfield; two brothers, Barry Gentry and Billy Gentry both of Houston, Missouri; one sister, Pamela Gentry of Springfield, Missouri; by eleven grandchildren, Bryce Gentry, Graham Gentry, Raegan Gentry, Charly Genrty, Luke Gentry, Piper Gentry, Elizabeth Gentry, Ruthie Gentry due May 1st, Reese Banken, Rush Banken, and Wren Banken due July 17th; also by many extended family that he loved and cared for dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Houston Christian Church in Houston, Missouri with Rev. Jim Hook officiating. 

George West, 81 of Puxico died February 13, 2017 at the Puxico nursing and rehab center. Mr. West was born December 5, 1935 in Maynard, Arkansas.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was employed with McDonnell Douglas until his retirement.

He was a fixture at the Puxico basketball games and his love for the sport was evident. He was dubbed as one of the three wise men.

George was a member of the St. Charles auxiliary police underwater recovery and rescue and was a member of the Brown General Baptist church.

Along with his parents, John and Vina West he was also preceded in death by one sister Vonda Genovesi.

He was married to Sue McDowell, she survives. Other survivors include his daughter Belinda Felix of Puxico; One brother Kenneth West of Dexter, Michigan and three grandchildren Derek, Katelyn and Jessica.

Visitation was held at 9:30 AM Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Brown General Baptist church with the funeral following at 11:00 AM with Johnny Buttry officiating.

Burial was held in the Brown church cemetery.

Arthur "Art" Dykes, Jr. of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, son of the late Arthur LeRoy, Sr. and Ethel Fay Buffington Dykes, was born in Wichita, Kansas on June 29,1961 and passed away on February 2, 2017, at St. Louis University Medical Center in St. Louis, at the age of 55 years, 7  months and 28 days.

Arthur had lived in Poplar Bluff since the 1990's. He was a diesel mechanic and had worked at Duckett Truck Center in Poplar Bluff. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

On September 4, 1995, he was married to Norma Smith in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Norma Dykes of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Emily Dykes of Poplar Bluff; four sons, Arthur L. Dykes, V, Joseph Dykes and Noah Dykes all of Poplar Bluff, Michael Hatcher of Highland Heights, Kentucky; two grandchildren; and one sister, Teresa Froese of Kansas. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

Friends may call on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, from  11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be day, February 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.

Barbara Jean Hill Whitehead, daughter of the late Dave Burnett and Bernice Orton Burnett was born in Gideon, Missouri on August 21, 1938 and departed this life in the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri on February 17, 2017 at the age of 78.

Mrs. Whitehead was a Homemaker and was a resident of Bernie.

She was united in marriage to Roy Hill.  He preceded his wife in death.
 
Survivors include one son, Johnny Carter of Dexter, Missouri; six daughters, Rosa Lee Wimberly & Barbara Lee Wimberly both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sally Sue Crutchfield, Wanda Jean of the State of Indiana, Helen Carter of Gideon, Missouri and Kathy Carter of Oklahoma City, Olahoma; one brother, Darrell Wayne Burnett of Jefferson City, Missouri; three sisters, Patsy Burnett of Cabot, Arkansas, Connie Smith of Malden, Missouri and Jackie Ferguson of Dexter, Missouri; by numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; by other relatives and friends.
 
She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband, by one son, Danny Ray Hill, by two brothers, David Junior Burnett and Bobby Lee Burnett; by three sisters, Goldie Ann Burnett, Anita Kay Burnett and Lalie Burnett.
 
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 12:00  Noon until 2:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Ivan Mekan Officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
