... HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH HAS ISSUED A HEAT ADVISORY... WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING.

* TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER TO MID 90S WILL COMBINE WITH VERY HUMID CONDITIONS TO PRODUCE HEAT INDICES OF 105 TO 110 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON.

* HEAT INDEX READING OF THIS MAGNITUDE INCREASE THE RISK OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE... ESPECIALLY ON INDIVIDUALS WHO WORK OR PLAY OUTDOORS FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS EXPECTED. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE.
